"Fractionalist" gives art a graphic,
realistic feel Beth A.
Palser said she brings "fractionalism©" to the Central Pennsylvania
Festival of Arts with her painting of nature from photographs.
Palser paints everything from landscapes to seascapes to urban scenes
using watercolors. She takes photographs from nature and uses them as
reference for her subject matter.
Her paintings are done in a style she terms as "fractionalism©." This is
her own unique style that gives the paintings a realistic feel.
"Painting in this style lets me use bright colors and chopped linear brush
strokes, which provide movement, depth and a sense of emotion in my
art," Palser said.
|
Palser said she gets inspiration from the world around her and always
tries to make her work as unique as possible.
"Whether it's the texture of the peeling bark on a tree, the light casting
a shadow through a window or the clouds rolling over the hills on a
sunny morning, in all these things I feel the urge to pick up my brush
and paint a picture," she said.
Palser, a professional artist for 18 years, makes her home in Chester
County, Pa. This will be her first year at the Art Festival. Her work is
exhibited and sold at juried and invitational shows throughout the
Mid-Atlantic. |

BETH PALSER
Beth Palser is an award-winning watercolor
artist from Oxford, Pennsylvania. "I present a unique style of painting
that brings together realism with graphic undertones," said Palser.
"I developed my own individual style, called Fractionalism©, taking
realism to a different level by enhancing the reality of a scene through
the use of color and chopped linear brush strokes, which provide
movement, depth, and a sense of emotion. Texture, contrast, and vibrant
color are other elements." This will be her 18th year exhibiting with
the Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show. "This is the best outdoor venue to
display original artwork," said Palser. "In a relaxed atmosphere,
customers get to meet the artists up close and personal and view a
variety of art to please their inner soul, and hopefully they will have
made purchases." |
The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club is
pleased that Beth Palser's "A Bushel and a Peck" watercolor painting,
has been accepted into its 112th Annual Open Exhibition at the National
Arts Club, 15 Gramercy South, New York, New York 10003.
Please see the show schedule page for details on
the show dates, times and reception information.
The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, one of the oldest women's art
clubs in the country was founded in 1896 in honor of Miss Wolfe, a
prominent New York philanthropist and art collector. She was the only
woman among the 106 founders of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The
club's home is the historic Grace Church on Broadway in New York City.
The club's original function was to provide aid and counsel to women art
students who found life in New York a struggle. In the 1950's the club's
focus shifted to serving women artists of professional standing. Today
the board meets monthly at the Grace Church Parish House. It organizes
exhibitions, plans for lectures, and other activities where the
membership can meet and share ideas. Today's members are represented in
museums, galleries, and prestigious art collections all over the world.
